Our Mission
The aim and purpose of the Muslim Student Association at NC State University is to serve the best interest of Islam and of the Muslims in our community. We strive to:
The MSA is a nonprofit, religious organization, the fundamental purpose of which shall be to encourage and enable Muslims with basic knowledge and competence in Islam to contribute individually and collectively toward meeting human needs in conformity with Islamic doctrines and belief. It shall also be the purpose of the MSA to avoid any practices which are contrary to Islam.
Our Pillars
The Muslim Student Association at NC State University strives to provide an Islamic environment for students built upon educational programming. While education is in-built in all of our meetings and events, our general body meetings (GBMs) are the primary vehicle through which we promote an understanding of Islam within our student community.
Each month, the NCSU MSA hosts one General Body Meeting and several smaller-scale Halaqahs. These events serve as opportunities to learn more about Islam and navigate being a Muslim, college student in the United States.

Unity is a core principle in our faith. As Muslims, it is both our right and our duty to exhibit good character with others, treat others the way we want to be treated, and unite together upon common values. As an MSA, we strive to offer the community opportunities to cultivate bonds of brotherhood and sisterhood through social gatherings, in the best traditions of Islam.
As a minority faith-group at NC State University, establishing a strong sense of community is vital to encourage students to be unapologetically Muslim.

As Muslims, generosity and acts of selflessness are cornerstones of our faith. We strive to give back to the NC State community and greater Triangle area through hosting service-oriented events, such as clothing drives, food packing and distribution opportunities, and fundraisers.
Educating the non-Muslim community about Islam is also fundamental to our work as an organization. By partnering with different faith and cultural groups, we hope to address and correct misconceptions others may have about Muslims and Islam.
